‍Voice & Performance Training for Singers and Actors
In-Person and Online

Just for you

Classical • Musical Theatre • Contemporary Styles

Your voice is unique, and your training should be too -an integration of technique, body awareness and bodywork to support the whole instrument. Rooted in the Swedish-Italian schools of classical singing and informed by modern methods such as Estill and Linklater, my approach builds technical clarity, vocal freedom, and dependable performance.

Beyond private lessons, I offer virtual and in-person masterclasses, workshops, and studio recitals; creating space for singers to refine their work and perform with confidence.

Expertise

For more than two decades, I have guided singers and actors toward greater vocal freedom, technical command, and expressive clarity. My work has taken me across New York City, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Boston, and the Washington, D.C. area.

In addition to private teaching, I serve as a music director, vocal coach, and dramatic coach in musical theatre, opera, concert work, and cabaret.

I studied Musical Theatre at New York University and hold a Master’s degree in Classical Vocal Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College. In addition to workshops and personal study, for the past several years I have continued my vocal and pedagogical training as a student of David Jones in New York City.

As a working member of Actors' Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, I remain actively engaged in performance and continually refining my craft. I bring that lived experience to you, in the studio.

Testimonials

An Extraordinary Teacher

After singing in choirs for decades, I wanted to join more accomplished and selective groups, but knew I wasn't good enough. I was fortunate to become Laura's student. She has worked tirelessly to improve every aspect of my voice; replacing bad habits with proper technique, and showing me how to approach an aria, a show tune, or a pop song. The depth and breadth of her expertise, the excellence of her own singing and musicianship, and, perhaps most impressive, her commitment to every student, is humbling.

— Phil Korb, Baritone

Laura is an exceptional voice teacher —

knowledgeable, technically skilled, and endlessly supportive. She understands the physical mechanics of singing inside and out, and her cheerful energy makes every lesson both productive and enjoyable. Any student would be lucky to work with her. I recommend her without hesitation.

~Rebecca Flemer, Soprano

Laura is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is super knowledgeable about technique and so incredibly positive, encouraging and inspiring.

Her vocal guidance has been incredibly important to me.  She is also a wonderful, caring, funny and charming person. She is a true ray of sunshine and an inspiration.

~Mary Timony, Indie Rock Artist

Laura is an exceptional teacher and mentor. She is extremely personable, witty, and discerning, with a keen ability to explain the most abstract musical concepts in an accessible manner. Laura challenges her students but also cultivates an environment where it feels safe to take risks and make mistakes. With Laura, I've gotten the courage to be loud and to sing in a way I never dreamed was possible. I have learned to listen less and feel more, to experience a spaciousness I never knew I had, to take myself less seriously, and to be completely and utterly present in the moment. With Laura, I have gotten to know a side of myself that I didn't know existed. Laura has a true gift.

~Katya Motyl, Soprano

Laura has a rare ability to recognize the unique strengths in every singer and help them become the best version of themselves –  one that is authentic and fully their own. My voice has truly grown and flourished under her guidance

She is thoughtful, measured, and deeply compassionate in her teaching, creating a space where I always feel supported and understood. At the same time, she consistently challenges me in the best way, pushing me each week to expand what I believe I’m capable of. Working with her has not only strengthened my voice, but also my confidence as an artist.
